editable step by step pattern instructions

You should already be able to add or edit steps after saving a pattern! Open the pattern, select Edit, then Save & Continue to get back to the steps page. If you’ve added steps before, they’ll already be there for you to edit, rearrange, or add to. If you haven’t, you can add them then. When you save, the steps will update to match what’s in the box, so you can add sections from your PDF whenever you’re ready. Let me know if you have any questions!

May oh! i actually meant about the optional pattern instructions. i couldnt find a way to edit the pattern i pasted in stitch haven, so i thought :D

for now i created a temoparary project so that i could follow the part of the pattern , then when i finish that im planning to delete that and make a new one with another bit of the pattern and so on till i finish. Btw , what does pasteable pdfs mean in the optional step by step plattern instructions like box when you create a project ?

Serah Cicil Ooh, interesting! Smart Import is currently designed for you to copy and paste the entire pattern at once. It will turn the pattern into one list of steps and include section headings for parts like the arms, legs, and head when they appear in the pattern. You can then follow all of those steps from the same project.
You can edit the saved steps afterward by opening the pattern, selecting Edit, and then selecting Save & Continue. Your existing steps will appear in the box on the right, where you can make any changes you need. The original pattern text you paste into Smart Import isn’t stored. Only the list of steps it creates in the box on the right is saved to your pattern.
Using Smart Import again on the same pattern will replace the steps currently in the box. For a pattern you want to add in smaller pieces, you can add the later instructions manually or use separate patterns and projects as you’ve been doing. Importing the full pattern at once will give you everything together in one project.
When Smart Import says it works with “pasteable text,” it means written instructions you can highlight, copy, and paste from another source, including a PDF, website, or typed document. You’ll want to paste the actual text rather than a link or the PDF file itself. Some PDFs are scanned images, so their words can’t be highlighted and copied yet.
